Investigating Wet Patch Near Front Door
Reason for Attendance/Discussion
A trace and access investigation was required to find the cause of a wet patch on the floor near the front door
Works carried out/Conclusion
On arrival a visual inspection of the property was conducted and the floor around the internal soil pipe was showing signs of staining and elevated moisture levels The skirting around the boxing was removed and an endoscopic camera was used. When the toilet was flushed water could be seen coming down the outside of the soil pipe.The boxing around the soil pipe in the en-suite above. Using the endoscopic camera an escape of water was observed coming from the shower waste connection to the soil pipe.The rubber bung connection had failed.A new rubber bung was fitted and tested now NO escape of water was observed.
